Yukio Mishima

Found, Confessions of a Mask, a Yukio Mishima book, at the thrift store the other day. Reflections on childhood. Soooo oddly and eerily nostalgic. He goes on about how in childhood memories space and time are smashed together, stretched, morphed and totally unclear. The main character is a young boy who is so obsessed with death and imagining himself dying. It's weird reading about these thoughts that his child character is having and knowing that he went on to commit seppuku at 45.
